What is ISO 27001?

The ISO 27001 is a security and compliance standard created jointly by the International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission. This certification provides customers with third-party reassurance that an independent security management system has been implemented. Popular worldwide, the ISO 27001 is most commonly requested by international customers, especially in Europe.

In North America, ISO 27001 certifications can be issued by auditors. The ANSI National Accreditation Board accredits ISO 27001 auditing bodies.
